Turmeric Banana Ginger & Maca Smoothie | ''Implementing SuperFoods Series | Part 2''

Today I bring you part 2 of  Implementing Superfoods! And if you haven't read part 1 yet you can have a look here. So in part one, we talked about  'the green gold' superfood but today I want to share with you the amazing medicinal properties of three more superfoods that can potentially benefit your general health and wellbeing.  As we talked about before, there is a large variety of nutrient-dense foods and ingredients that are not only good to add a nice flavor to our meals but that can also potentially keep your body strong and healthy.

And while many products in the natural health circle are (ridiculously) expensive there still are a few affordable superfoods ingredients that we can use. A few favorites of mine that I like to include in my cooking routine are; turmeric, ginger, and maca. These are by far the most powerful (budget-friendly) foods that include an array of health benefits! You can add these into your smoothies, plain yogurt, porridge, chia pudding, juices, and many other meals too, like this easy pumpkin curry here

Turmeric has such incredible health benefits that I could make a whole post talking about it! Turmeric contains powerful medicinal properties that can help and benefit your body and health in many ways!

It can boost your immune system naturally, help you treat and prevent viral, bacterial infections, inflammation, diabetes, depression, a powerful antioxidant, can treat different types of skin conditions, and improve your general health.

Ginger is another root of the turmeric family that has powerful medicinal properties it has been used for thousands of years in the treatment of different illnesses

Ginger can be consumed fresh, dried as a spice, or juiced. Ginger can help your body remove the excess toxins, is amazing for weight loss, and is a very powerful antibacterial that can help against contagious diseases among many other things.

Maca is a root plant as well but comes originally from South America and growth in the high Andes of Peru. It has been used by the ancient indigenous people for thousands of years to nourish and rejuvenate the body. Legend has it that Incan warriors would consume large quantities of maca before going into battle to make them tremendously strong.

Maca can supply your body with vitality, can help increase your energy, stamina, and support the immune system. Maca is also known as a natural aphrodisiac, and it can improve fertility in men and women. Maca is also an 'adaptogenic plant' -this means that maca can help with balancing hormonal changes to support adapt your body during times of stress and fatigue.

A Word of Caution:

Just to be on the safe side, always check with a doctor first before consuming maca or any other herbs or natural supplements

This was my quick dose of wellness for you this week! I hope this was helpful and you've learned something new from this post today and feel inspired to try adding these superfoods into your nutrition.
