Apple Dessert Compote -- Compota de Manzanas -- Comfort Food Dessert


This recipe is simple and very refreshing, especially for summer time. 

My Mom used to make this apple compote often when I was little--particularly when I was feeling a bit sick after eating to much dulce de leche :) And I've always loved It! 


In Argentina we also called it comfort food dessert.   


Compota is also very good for digestion. And it's the perfect ''light dessert'' after a heavy meal and a refreshing light snack on a hot day.


Even now as an adult every time I eat compota ...and I taste the soft texture of soft apples full of juice in my mouth.... 


Mmmmm it immediately makes me feel like a little girl again.  


Apple compote is easy to make, inexpensive, healthy  and delicious! 


 What else could be better?... 



Compota de Manzanas--"Apple Compote"

4 Apples, medium size
1 Cup sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Preparation:
Wash and Clean appl
es. Cut the apples into quarters and place in saucepan with sugar and cinnamon
Then cover with cool water and let it cook well for about 20 minutes or until apples are smooth and tender. When ready remove from heat and let it cool completely.

  1. Precisamente Argentina es lo que me recuerdan las compotas. La chica de la casa donde vivia solia hacer compotas usando frutas seca y frescas.

    Ya se me antojo hacer una compota solo de ver la fotografia.

  3. Una delicia, sobre todo si un día se come de más. En España también se hace mucha compota en invierno. O se hacía, más bien. Ahora han llegado otras comidas más cargaditas de grasa, jajaja.
