Chicken wrapped in Prosciutto Recipe
Food Blogging can be a great way to communicate and express your knowledge, thoughts and experience in the kitchen. But sometimes it could result in failure unless you have a Plan for your Blog Posts {particularly if you really enjoy food blogging and also have other obligations to attend besides posting on a blog} I've learned this things after repeated mistakes.
When I first started blogging about three years ago, I couldn’t quite understand the meaning of “Posting”. And by this I mean; that I didn’t know the amount of time that takes to create “One Post”. Yes, just 'one post'.
I knew the kind of message I wanted to communicate in my posts. But as an amateur in the field, I thought I could do it ‘All’ {and I repeat ‘All’} in just a blink of an eye.To me posting resulted to be as hard as ‘Planning the Perfect Meal to Impress the In-laws’ {insert laughs} Did I just–accidentally-bring back some memories?!!! I bet I did! Didn’t I?
However, I didn’t know posting would change my everyday schedule so much. And I wouldn’t have known how-to- organize my time between “My Real Life and My Online Life”. I wanted to make my posting experiences more productive but mostly enjoyable. So I decided to make some changes to my old-posting-routine. I don’t claim my suggestions are the best--but
planning ahead and creating a calendar became very useful to me and had
certainly help me get the best from food posting and blogging. And I
thought you'd enjoy this too.So this is my new food posting plan.
My Guidelines to Food Posting
1- Create your own Google Calendar:
This is an awesome tool- is completely free and easy enough to understand and use. Creating this calendar certainly helps organize activities, events and keep track of what you have been doing every day.
2- Plan Ahead for your next Delicious Post:
Pre-Plan your Recipe during your spare time. Write down your favorites and try to visualize the preparation of each dish to make sure you have the ingredients, the time and tools to prepare each one. Doing this will speed the process of your decision and it will help you save time.
3- Decide the day and time:
Remember to set the day and the exact time you’ll prepare, cook and photograph your dish. Particularly if you are planning to take photos of your dish.
4- Camera, Battery, Set, Light:
Always check ahead your photo camera battery levels. Pre-determine Time of the day and Table Settings-- whenever you can-- Arrange background, tablecloth, plates, silverware, glasses, etc. This will allow you to take advantage of natural light--when natural light is available. My best shoots are always the ones during daylight hours.
5- (Food-Posting) -Agent:
5- (Food-Posting) -Agent:
When
on a mission, James Bond always has an escape plan. Be prepared for
‘The Unexpected’. Have some content and extra photos ready to post in
times of emergency.
6- Keep a Food-Posting journal:
6- Keep a Food-Posting journal:
Complete the Food Posting Plan by keeping track of your progress. Take notes of what works for you and what didn’t. Most importantly
enjoy what you are doing while posting and never (ever) believe nobody
read your blog. Sure It will take some time and thought. But
‘Remember’ the whole world can see it and you never know who might be
reading yours!
I hope you enjoy this post as much as I've enjoyed creating it!
Be patient, Laugh, keep Cooking Delicious.
Some of my suggestions may sound unnecessary to you. But believe me, in the end, it will save you endless hours of wasted hard work.

Nikk
What a GREAT POST! I love the idea of having my own calendar. And become more organize with real life and blogging.
Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Love the chicken recipe. Beautiful pictures :)
Saludos,
Mely

This recipe looks wonderful- thanks for sharing!
Lovely dish and great tips! I don't use it for blogging, but I really love google calendar, especially to send myself reminders of events. I especially agree with pre-planning your posts. You definitely don't have to follow through on all of them or at the time you originally intended, but it helps to write down your ideas when you're feeling very inspired so you have something to draw on when you're feeling less so (it happens to all of us).

Aldy, Thanks for stopping into The Spice Garden ... it's always nice to see a new face and get a new perspective. Your post makes so many good points! My particular struggle is that many times, I post on what we have for dinner ... and by the time I make dinner available light is almost gone. My photos are sometimes of the leftovers the next morning when sunlight helps me create a better photo ... ah, the life of a blogger!
Your photos of this chicken pesto dish are spectacular! Bravo!
